I am having future!Stiles feels but don’t have a computer to type on! This is horrible. I’m thinking of adding a baby Hale, but I write too much kid!fic already. I don’t want to fall into a kid!fic hole and never return. But then the phrase “Up, up Sour Pup!” and my will collapses sideways.
There would be meditation.
And a portal to a world filled with carnivorous monsters. Because portals. Actually something he could try and fix.
But by the time he’s gotten that far it’s just him and Sour Pup. Has been for the last six months when Derek… Well, Stiles doesn’t like to think about what happened to his last connection to normal. To happy, to good. To people who know him as something other than the human member of the Hale Pack who were thrown on the front lines.
But then they were just fighting.
And fighting.
And there was nothing left to fight for.
And then the pack started to go one after the other. But Stiles couldn’t stop, couldn’t doubt, because there was Derek. And Derek, after Scott had gone mad when Allison was killed and got himself butchered, was Stiles’ best friend.
And he needed Stiles, genuinely, to stay sane to be able to come back. Back to his humanity. Back to the son he had the brilliant idea of producing in the middle of an interdimensional bloodbath. And then it was just Stiles and Sour Pup.
That was it.
The only people on the Western seaboard.
So Stiles has to go back, has to stop the portal from being made, even though it would make him like he never was, rewrite history. He’d just let it happen and be glad to stop existing, just go somewhere and die like the old wardog he is.
But he’s got Sour Pup, and Sour Pup can’t be erased, that’s just not acceptable. Stiles loves that little, brilliant, grumpy kid too much to let him turn to dust like so much Back to the Future.
And if there’s anything that can make Stiles Stilinski fight the good fight with a smile on his face its real, pure love.
It’s just that now it’s a smile full of teeth.
