God forgot to give sins to the angels and thumbs to the goats, so that angels have more thumbs than they can handle, and goats have more sins. To this day goats and angels both adore and resent humankind for having BOTH thumbs AND a capacity to sin, in balanced and wieldy amounts. That’s a fact about the creation of the universe

……i can’t tell if this is shitposting or talmudic midrash

Surprise it’s both

Chapter 10 is off at the beta.  For those of you here and on fanfiction who are offering to beta I want to say thank you!  I’ve had a bit of a scramble this week and I wanted to make sure I got the chapter out as close to Wednesday as I could.  I’ll be contacting you soon gorgeous beta offerers!  Happy Halloween!

Q:Constipated hate eyes on a marshmallow puff at a genealogy conference? Hmmm… I think we need photographic evidence;) Good luck, and don’t sweat it! I’m sure you’ll rock. I bet your syllabus KICKS. ASS. Enjoy the distinct and intoxicating perfume that is the dusty paper muskiness those back library rooms have. Slam a few big tomes for me! 🙂

Tomes slammed!  (Which I suppose is like mischief managed for archive junkies.)

I loved it, it was beautiful.  And they haven’t shifted the British books much, The Gentleman’s Magazine was chilling right near the Army Lists and there was dear old Yorkshire at the back.  I wasn’t able to make the breakthroughs I wanted on any of the problems I was sent with, but I got a little closer with all of them.  I try to think of it in the optimistic Edisonian way, I just found a hundred ways this particular problem isn’t solved.  🙂

At the airport now.  I wasn’t able to quite do what I wanted to, but I met some very nice people and I got far closer than I was before.  I prefer to keep a Edison type of optimism going, I may not have found the answer I wanted, but I found a hundred things that the answer isn’t.

I’m going to start in on the next chapter while I wait, there’s a plug where I’m sitting (good job Salt Lake Airport) and if I can get anything going creatively then I’ll type for as long as my battery holds out on the plane.

Hurrah!  Hurrah!  Back in the saddle!

edit: Sorry for the horrid grammar, I typed this on my phone.

Watching the presidential debate. I think Romney has recurrent amnesia. Seriously. I watched that speech where he said he wanted troops in Iraq. Also, has Obama always had such huge shoulders and narrow little hands. Maybe the cameraman was trying to distract from the way Obama is trying to kill Romney with his eyes with a wonky hand shrinking angle. Seriously though, Romney is backing himself into a corner where he’ll be called out as a downright liar cause the way he keeps denying things that have been filmed, he’s running out of other options.

I arrived in Salt Lake yesterday and enjoyed the high altitude. (That bit back there is sarcasm. I like to breathe.) I started in on my research but don’t want to say too much at this juncture. I’m being a lonely bunny right now. I’m fairly sure should I try to walk where everyone one else is going for lunch I will run out of air and expire. The Library is gorgeous. I think I may marry it. More info to follow.

Sorry folks, I spent three and a half hours in clinic yesterday unable to breathe. I’ve got a new inhaler perscription and a gorgeous new humidifier, but no new chapter. Thank you for your offer bootsnblossom. It’ll be super useful to have a second opinion on a couple things just to be dead sure. I’ll have to have you swear an oath of secrecy like my other glorious beta.

Lots of love to you all, hope you’re not terribly disappointed, but I need to concentrate of breathing and packing.

Hello all. As you probably noticed I didn’t update yesterday. Due to my busy schedule right now it might be a couple weeks, but I do have a goodly portion of the chapter done, it just doesn’t feel quite done yet, I had lots of complaints that Small Families is really dragging so I’ve tried to speed it up. Now it feels choppy. I have a hard enough time trying not to be baroque this is kind of killing me. My syllabuses are done now and going in for final review and publication. As part of my research, I did a lot of running around a site called fold3.com. It’s a great site for genealogists and writers of historical fiction. They have a ton of great stuff.

I might be able to get something up later this week. I really appreciate y’all and don’t want to leave you waiting too long.

TTFN!
